A fight broke out in Curlew Way amongst youths believed to have recently left the South Beach pub.
On social media, local resident Stacey reported seeing someone who:
“...came out of the place this afternoon off his face with a bottle in hand swaying all over getting in me, my daughter and dogs way whilst on a walk”
Nearby, Ian confirmed:
“Sadly I witnessed the fight outside our home. We have a very young family. And to see approx 15 young people and a few fights break out is sad. A young lad was knocked out straight onto the road. Just off Plover Close... ...The police were in attendance and some of the culprates ran away. Very sad Indeed for local residents. It had been building all day and too many people drinking all day and no control of social distancing at all.”

An ambulance was seen outside the South Beach pub. The establishment’s Facebook page claimed this was in conjunction with a woman who fainted on a previous occasion. The photo shows what appears to be a “Welcome Back” banner.
Many commented in local residents forums that social distancing rules were not being obeyed. Paula posted:
“What an absolute joke. No social distancing at all. The pub is rammed. Now the NHS are picking up the pieces. Smashed bottles and people fighting at the South Beach pub !!”
